In-Home and Community Support (IHCS) services provide personalized assistance to individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them maximize independence and participation in daily life — all within the comfort of their homes and community settings.

✅ How to Get Started
• Contact us for more information.
• Connect with your Supports Coordinator.

• Determine eligibility, through your waiver program.
• Work with your team to develop a person-centered service plan defining goals and the type of In‑Home and Community Support (IHCS) you will receive.

🎯 Why These Services Matter
• Person-centered & flexible: Tailored to individual goals, preferences, and home-community routines.
• Skilled support: Delivered by trained professionals — including direct support professionals (DSPs) — ensuring safety, dignity, and best practices.
• Integrated & collaborative: Coordinated through county MH/ID offices and Supports Coordinators, often under Medicaid waiver funding.
• Enhances quality of life: Promotes skill-building, social interaction, independence, and overall well-being within community settings.

How It Works
1. Eligibility & Waiver Enrollment: IHCS is provided under ODP’s 1915(c) waivers (e.g., Consolidated, Community Living, and Person/Family Directed Support). These waiver options allow Medicaid funds to be used for services at home and in the community.
2. Person-Centered Planning: Supports are defined in an Individual Support Plan (ISP), developed annually through a team process that identifies personal goals, skills need, and desired community outcomes.
3. Flexible Implementation: Supports Brokers, Supports Coordinators, and providers work together to hire, train, and match staff based on the individual's preferences and everyday routines.
